"What a strange picture" you might think. Well it has quite the story to go along with it. This was taken just inside the California border off of I-15 after leaving Nevada. My sister and her family were kind enough to help me move to San Diego. They flew to Utah where all of my stuff was. We got in my car and Uhaul and made our way to the golden state. Well our trip wasn't so golden. We decided to stop in St. George for lunch at In-N-Out of course (since they don't have them in CO). My youngest nephew started to get sick and well I won't go into much detail but it wasn't pretty. After successfully getting the dramamine into his stomach we continued on our journey. We contemplated stopping in Vegas, but when we arrived my nephew was sleeping like a baby, so we continued on our journey. Everything was going great, and we decided we needed to stop soon for gas. Well that was when my niece, who had been contently playing in the back, started getting upset and declared she was "done!" I promised her we would stop soon since we needed to get gas anyway. Well at that very moment my nephew gave her his Nintendo DS to play with and she looked down to play when I heard a loud noise. I looked back and everything that had gone in that little girl's stomach was now on the DS and all over her car seat. My nephew started roaring with laughter and she was just in shock of what had happened. I looked ahead and saw an exit and called my sister to request she pull off, unfortunately she didn't pick up until I watched the Uhaul drive past the only exit. So I pulled off at that point, stripped down my niece to what you see here. The scene was so intense: beautiful sunset, out in the middle of the desert, naked child.... I'm not sure I quite captured the humor of it all... but I tried.
The blessing of this all however, was that even though all of my belongings were in the Uhaul with my sister, I somehow had just what I needed in my trunk. A pillowcase to clean her off, which conveniently flipped inside out so I didn't have to touch anything, and even a random gallon sized ziplock bag where I could put all of her clothes. It was quite the moment... but in the end we made it to San Diego with the stinky car seat and all!
